About Oasis

Oasis considers belief and behaviour integral. We aim to live out what we believe, inspired by the life, message and example of Jesus Christ through whom God’s unconditional love for all people is expressed.

This means that in all that we do, we seek equality, respecting differences in personality, culture, gender, religion, race, ethnicity and worldview; and we consider the needs of individuals, communities and the environment to be integral.

Oasis serves people regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity and gender.

Our vision is for community, a place where everyone is included, making a contribution and reaching their God-given potential.

We work in an inclusive, integrated, empowering and comprehensive way so that all people experience wholeness and fullness of life.

And as a result, we expect changes in:

  • Local communities which will become characterised by high levels of trust, safety, cohesion, mutual support, vibrancy, health and opportunity, and have increasing capacity to address their own issues.
  • People who were excluded from community being brought back into community and finding wholeness and fullness of life.

And we expect to be able to replicate models that effectively contribute to community transformation and which bring the excluded into community.

Oasis does not have one centralised global headquarters – we are a family of locally registered and locally governed organisations sharing a common ethos, values and goals. We currently work in ten countries and in each location we seek to develop contextually appropriate responses to the needs we encounter, working in line with our globally agreed ethos and values. To combine local governance with global integration and interdependence, the Oasis Global Executive made up of all country CEO’s and led by the international Director provides operational leadership in seeking to achieve agreed targets. Meanwhile, local boards are connected through their involvement in the Oasis Global Council, which provides a mechanism for global governance.
