In a number of countries Oasis runs training and production units. In these, people are trained with vital skills such as tailoring so that they can earn a living; many go on to get work elsewhere, and some are able to continue work with Oasis, earning a sustainable income.

Oasis has developed a range of resources based on our experiences of establishing and operating successful programmes for children, young people and in communities.

1. In His Image
A book by Andy Matheson, the International Director of Oasis, in which he argues that we can only begin to understand poverty , its effects and possible solutions when we focus on the truth that all people are made in God’s image. 2. Step by Step
A resource to measure the individual progress of a child at risk. Designed to be used by projects which aim to improve the child’s present situation and future prospects though an holistic approach.
3. Catch Up Literacy Programme
Uses a phonics-based approach so that in 10 stages children will have mastered the basics of reading and writing in English to enable them to integrate into mainstream education.
4. Catch Up Numeracy Programme
In 10 levels providing an introduction to basic numeracy skills to prepare children to enter mainstream education. Includes a particular focus on number facts, using numbers, mental recall, measuring shape and space, and using data.

Identifies the best practice and offers help and advice in setting up a Vocational training project.
