Oasis Catch Up Numeracy Programme

Oasis 'Catch Up' programmes are designed to accelerate children's learning in basic English literacy and numeracy. The programmes are ideal for children who have missed out on all or part of their education and would benefit from accelerated learning in these core areas of learning in order to enter mainstream education or progress more quickly through the education system and achieve parity with their peers. The range of reading and writing skills in the programme provides students with a firm foundation to succeed in school situations where lessons are based on reading and writing in English.

In 10 levels, the Oasis Catch Up Numeracy programme provides an introduction to and practice of basic numeracy skills in number facts, using numbers, mental recall, measuring, shape and space and using data, preparing children to enter mainstream education.

The complete curriculum provides the following:

A systematic approach which delivers the teaching in 10 clear progressive stages.
An easy to follow programme with each stage divided into 6 main teaching topics, and each topic given clear teaching aims at every stage to facilitate medium term planning.
Ideas for how to develop and adapt teaching materials to best suit your groups' needs.
