Oasis educates
This is a key part of what we do in providing options for those who have none.
In Harare, Zimbabwe, a Pre-School Education Programme has been established in response to the economic instability and the ongoing HIV/AIDS pandemic. In Mozambique Oasis is helping local churches run extra-curricular courses for primary school children. In Kampala, Uganda, girls are educated using a catch-up curriculum that enables them to eventually gain admission to a local school. In the UK, Oasis is involved in establishing schools in urban priority areas where a new approach to education is desperately needed – academically, vocationally, socially, morally, spiritually, emotionally and environmentally balanced.

Jacob's Well trainee, Oasis India
Oasis runs computer-training projects across the world to confront the injustice of those from poor backgrounds being denied access to I.T. technology.
Net2work is the Oasis computer-training programme that is presented in easy-to-understand language with an online testing and certification system. In addition to the I.T. training, life skills, job application advice, skills and personal coaching are also offered to the students.
In Kambuzama, a high-density suburb of Harare, Oasis has established a Skills Training Academy (OSTA) that offers training to unemployed young people to help them find work and establish sustainable lives. The courses include small-scale agriculture, I.T. training, tailoring, security guard training and carpentry. Students are also offered a place on an entrepreneur course which teaches business skills and basic bookkeeping.
In India Oasis delivers full-time comprehensive tailoring training courses in 3 ‘Jacobs Well’ centres across India. Trainees are able to work on different products, from clothing to accessories and cards.
In Dhaka, Bangladesh a high quality Mechanical Training Skills Centre for young men has been established.
